Proudly made in the USA, our Black Eagle G-1 Bomber is a style that represents the pure courage of the Black Eagle Squadron during WWII. Worn by the pilots and aircrew members in the South Pacific who bravely fought from 1942 to 1945, the Black Eagle USN Flight Jacket became a staple of the squadron. The squadron kept their jacket handy even during the warmer months of the pacific. Some modified their leather jackets by removing the fur collars and adorning them with hand painted nose art on the back, with flags symbolizing defeated enemy aircraft downed and hand painted bombs indicating the number of missions the soldier endured.
Crafted out of hand treated goatskin giving the appearance of years of wear and a vintage appeal; the Black Eagle USN Flight Jacket honors the patrol squadron VP-71. This handcrafted item is an homage of the American Spirit and the bravery of those who rode on the PBY Catalina aircraft during the 1940's.
