Alpha Industries B-15 Slim Fit Flight Jacket
Suitable for mild or colder winter climates ranging 25F to 40F
We’ve updated our classic B-15 flight jacket with a slimmer fit throughout the body and sleeves. Like its counterpart, the B-15 Slim Fit has a flight nylon, water-resistant shell with nylon twill lining and 100% polyester fill. It also features the removable faux mouton collar and tonal color lining. The nylon web oxygen tab and headset wire snap tabs pay homage to the original military B-15 bombers mil-spec features that helped pilots secure their oxygen masks and headset wires during flight.
The B-15 jacket was first introduced in 1944 to replace the B-10. It was used throughout the late 40's by the U.S. Air Force pilots and air crews. Designed for cold temperatures, the jacket had a Mouton fur collar and 100% wool knit waistband and cuffs. It also featured a tab to hold the pilot's oxygen mask as well as a second one to keep the headset wires in place. It went through many revisions including one that started using nylon. Alpha started making reproductions of the B-15 bombers in 1993 and today produce them to the B-15D specifications including the nylon, tabs and Mouton collar.
